Home Work

Chef Homework, yes Homework  :One night during the week, we request that your child to prepare a meal or dish for you, preferably from the recipes we are learning in camp - we like to call this Chef Work (kind of like homework but far more delicious for the parents)   Please set aside time to shop with them and watch them cook, then write (Email ) a review on their dish and send it in with them so we can talk about it on Thursday morning. This exercise will encourage your child to build confidence in the kitchen. We will collect the reviews and put them in our all star chef book each year for the kids to look through so if you want to include a picture of your kid chef preparing we would love it.

Camp Essentials & Required Materials

Closed-toed sturdy shoes are required. NO sandals, crocs, keens, espadrilles, or soft shoes. This is a safety issue to protect your kid chef (your child will be sitting out and you will be called to bring your child shoes if they do not have them)    Mask/face covering: If your child would like to wear a mask during camp. They are welcome to, they will need to provide their own mask.    Hair: If your child has hair longer than chin length please make sure it is pulled back or secured up in a hat prior to arriving at camp each day and will remain secured for the duration of camp each day.   Water Bottles are required:  Please bring a water bottle for your kid-chef. We request that it contain only water. Please no sugary or caffeine-loaded drinks. *Especially important for outdoor camp to prevent dehydration!*   Bug spray and sunscreen: Our outdoor modified day camp does increase risk of sun exposure. Please apply sunscreen and bug spray prior to camp and/or bring some along to reapply during the day.     No nail polish or dangly jewelry including long necklaces, bracelets, or rings.

Electronic Policy

No phone or electronic use during camp(including smartwatches). We have a phone in the kitchen if your child needs to make or receive a call during camp hours cell phones are not permitted to be used or out of their bag during camp. Smartwatches should be on silent and should not be used as a distraction during camp.

Lost or Stolen Items:

C’est si Bon! Cooking School! and its staff are not responsible for the loss and/or recovery of any lost, stolen, or damaged belongings.

Lunch Time:

Each day we will be preparing a 4-5 course lunch so please do not send lunch or any snacks with them. Unless your child has an allergy we do encourage them to try EVERYTHING with no preconceived notions as to not liking one thing or another! This part of their culinary education is as important as the cooking (and cleaning!) We do ask that you make sure that your child has had a good breakfast each morning before arriving at camp since our lunch time is 1 pm each day mimicking the French Lunch that consists of 4 courses.
